Barely a day has past since Halimah Yacob was sworn in as Singapore's eighth president on Sept. 14, 2017, via a walkover, interest in the minutiae of her personal life has brought out the voyeurs.

This is so after Singapore's most famous HDB flat-dweller had personally expressed her desire to continue staying in her Yishun Ave 4 corner jumbo unit flat, instead of moving out to the Istana.

Is it practical though?

While her neighbours have expressed their fascination at the novelty of having a president living in their high-rise midst, more serious understated issues have also been expressed to question the viability of having the president continue residing in a flat -- for six continuous years.

One of these concerns relates to security issues, as the everyday movement of Singapore's president can be easily monitored by the general public and anyone else as she is left exposed.

And within a day of the inauguration of Halimah Yacob the president, a video has indeed emerged showing what goes on when she leaves the vicinity of her plebeian Yishun home.

Security entourage

As can be seen from the video, Madam President is accompanied by security to her designated vehicle, a white Mercedes Benz with official license plate SEP 1.

In total, she relies on two other continental cars and four traffic police on motorcycles as escort within the vicinity of the car park itself to usher her out.

There could be more security stationed at the car park's exit to clear the way for a smooth exit to the main road.

The red vehicle that is seen turning into the car park is being directed to make way for the presidential motorcade by another uniformed personnel on the ground.

The actual date and time this video was shot is not known.
