Eyebrow stylist Steven Lim was scheduled to go one-on-one with fellow Singapore Idol alum and arch-nemesis, Sylvester Sim, in a fight.

It would have taken place during the inaugural Asia Fighting Championship on Sept. 23.

Sadly, the fight got cancelled after it was announced on Sept. 22 that Sim had to drop out, due to "insufficient insurance coverage."

Player 2 has entered the game

But only for a moment.

As replacement, a mountain of a man, Pradip Subramanian, a serious bodybuilder and the president and director of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Federation Singapore, will take Sim's vacated spot.

A fitness consultant who will be opening his own gym in the near future, Pradip seemed relaxed during the weigh in with his opponent.

But has he ever competed in a Muay Thai match before?

Pradip said:

"No, this will be my first Muay Thai fight."

Ah, so maybe Lim has a chance to win.

Pradip elaborated:

"But I did use to box when I was younger. I boxed in different gyms in Singapore and around Asia. I had to stop because my boss wasn't happy."

Oh.

He does not kneel

Lim, however, remains unbowed, unbent, and (as of right now) unbroken.

Despite being denied his dream match and being given a tougher opponent, he seems unfazed.

Lim said:

"I am very, very disappointed. With or without insurance, I still want to fight anyone they will give me. Big, small, pro or not pro, I will fight."

Why does he think Sim dropped out? Lim has a theory.

Lim explained:

"Without insurance, he don't want to fight me. We had a short test fight about two weeks ago, and he was injured by me."

Still, he bears no grudges against Sim.

Lim said:

"I hope I can see you tomorrow at the AFC. Looking forward to more collaborations with you for the future."

Steven Lim Kor Kor

Lim's greatest strength is perhaps his unpredictability, or maybe his never-say-die spirit. We don't know which Steven will show up tomorrow, but he'll certainly put his heart and soul (and teeth and ribs) into the bout.

Failing that, he could try running around the ring until his opponent gets tired of chasing him.

Age: 40

Weight: 95.5kg

Hair: Red

Professional record: 0.5-0 (One inconclusive "test" victory over Sylvester Sim)

Quote:

"Facing the bigger fighter tomorrow, if I happen to lose, too bad. I already tried my very best. See you there, saranghaeyo, support me oh!"

Pradip "The Prodigy" Subramanian

Pradip is younger, taller, fitter, more muscular, more experienced, with a longer reach. If he doesn't knock Lim out cold in the first round, we'll be surprised.

Age: 32

Weight: 99kg

Hair: Blonde

Professional record: 0-0 (With numerous victories in boxing matches)

Quote:

"I'll do my talking in the ring."

The Fight of the Century will take place on Sept. 23 at Marina Bay Sands Expo Hall A.
