Virtualand arcade is coming back to Bugis. Arcade gamers, this is the best news you'll hear so far this week.

In a Facebook post on Aug. 15, Virtualand announced that they'll be opening soon on the fifth floor of Bugis+.

Located at Bugis+ fifth floor

This means that the new arcade site is pretty much a stone's throw away from their former outlet at Bugis Junction, which closed down earlier this year in January.

Virtualand cited mall redevelopment as the reason for the closure.

The closure of Bugis Junction's Virtualand arcade was an emotional one, with some arcade-goers fearing that it was the beginning of the end for the arcade culture in Singapore.

The former flagship outlet's central location offered a wide variety of games that continued to attract a loyal following, despite the rise of mobile gaming.

Such games include music and rhythm games such as Maimai, Jubeat, and racing game Wagan Midnight.

In any case, if you find yourself having to travel to far-flung places to get your arcade fix because of Virtualand Bugis Junction's closure, you probably won't have to do so any more.
