Now this is a real HDB flat.
A 165 square metres jumbo-sized HDB flat is up for sale for S$900,000.
The current owner is letting it go after staying there for seven years.
This despite the owner having spent two years looking for such a spacious unit.
S$100,000 in renovations
According to the sale description, which is highly enticing, renovations apparently took six months and cost S$100,000.
The theme of the house is New York with a touch of colonial. Our colour scheme is largely grey and white.
The living room flooring is mostly cement. Long wooden slabs line up the steps as well as the balcony area where we have created storage underneath.
The kitchen and toilet use mosaic tiles. Our kitchen is open-planned with an island seated in the middle. We use cylinder gas for our stoves. Our oven and microwave oven are built into the cabinet.
We are willing to leave behind ALL our furnishing (at no extra cost) if you wish to take over (except all the art on the walls, those will have to come with us! LOL!). Which means you can literally move in immediately.

As comparison, a typical five-room flat is about 110 square metres.
The rectangular unit is easily configurable and has had some extensive renovation works done, such as converting four bedrooms into two.
It was ready in 1993 so that means there is 75 years left on the lease.
The sales pitch also includes extolling the virtues of its fengshui and location, such as how it is a five-minute walk from the new Downtown Line 2 Bedok North station scheduled to open in October 2017.
Here are some photos of the spacious unit:
