S'porean in Australia creates website to give real-time updates on MRT breakdowns in S'pore

Because why not?

A Singaporean living in Australia has created a website to keep his fellow countrymen updated on the state of the train systems in his home country.

Samuel Liew is the developer of MRTOK ("MRT OK", not "MR TOK"), a site which pulls real-time information from Reddit, as well as SBS and SMRT's Twitter accounts.

This means Singaporeans can access multiple sources of status updates in one place, instead of having to look through Facebook or Twitter for updates.

Here's how it looks like on mobile:

Clean and green, just like our beautiful country.

And here's how it looks like on the mobile test page, with updates of current/recent breakdowns.

Seeing lots of red from train breakdowns, just like our beautiful country.

Liew is also working on adding a popup link with specific instructions on how to make a report on r/singapore, so that commuters who are experiencing problems in present time can contribute to the site.

For more information and updates, you can refer to the Reddit thread here.

However, the site is currently still a work-in-progress, so you may wish to bookmark it.
