Chinese Hot Pot Restaurant Hai Di Lao is a pretty popular restaurant franchise in China and Singapore. There are four operational outlets so far in our sunny island itself, with a 5th upcoming one at Bedok Mall.

They're famous for their service, and it's not just at the table. Due to the high demand, patrons usually have to wait 1 to 2 hours for a table, but Hai Di Lao offers snacks, games, drinks, massages (at some outlets) and manicures to help you kill time while you wait.

Overnight, however, Hai Di Lao has seemingly gotten an unexpected boost to their popularity, not because of a dish or a new activity to do while queuing, but because of this photogenic waiter.

How did he suddenly catch the attention of Singaporeans online?

While the staff of Facebook page Bite of SG originally spotted him, their photos and video of him was reposted on another Facebook page, Johor Food Guide 食在柔佛, which caused it to go viral on the social media platform.

And suddenly, everybody and their grandmothers in Singapore want to eat at Hai Di Lao.

From the comments section on both posts, a few have speculated that the photogenic Hai Di Lao waiter was from the Vivocity outlet.

While we too think he's probably a really nice and cute guy,  if you're serious about tracking down this hunk, don't forget your manners - he's at Hai Di Lao for work, yah.

Do ask for permission if you really want to take photos or videos,  or else saying hi should suffice.
