In a move that many are calling unnecessarily savage, Yancheng Wild Animal World in Changzhou, Jiangsu province fed a live donkey to tigers in an enclosure.

A video released has gone viral online that showed a zookeeper pushing the donkey into a moat as tiger food.

Many have speculated it was done for publicity.

The live donkey was pushed down by the zookeepers into the moat surrounding the tiger enclosure.

Where the tigers immediately pounced.

The donkey, in the midst of struggling, appeared to go under water for a significant amount of time.
