So a bit of background before we get into the article.
Formations in football are usually denoted by the number corresponding to the defenders, midfielders, and attackers.
So for example, four defenders, four midfielders, and two attackers will usually constitute a 4-4-2 formation.
A more advanced formation might see two midfielders and two attacking midfielders. Which would constitute a 4-2-2-2 formation.
Argentina will be taking a more extreme stance on this issue, playing the nearly unheard of formation 2-3-4-1.

Which means two defenders.
A formation which many agree is semi-insane.
Here is UK publication, The Metro, giving their hot take on it.
As well as a poll to see what their readers thought of the formation.
Sad Face!
The majority felt the formation was untenable, only effective due to the disparity between the two sides.
And some Singaporeans have taken offence at the choice of playing two defenders.
But others have already accepted the cruel reality of life.
