BMW drivers are back in the spotlight again for their irresponsible driving.

When they aren't cruising down Sentosa Gateway recklessly, they are causing accidents across the border in Malaysia.

A fiery crash

On May 24, a Singapore-registered BMW 7 Series sedan was involved in an accident that occurred along a road in Johor Bahru.

According to the report by Lianhe Zaobao, the driver crashed into a motorcyclist, and caused the latter to be dragged down the street.

A 35-year-old witness told Zaobao that the motorcyclist was dragged for about 300 metres before the driver eventually stopped.

Miraculously, both the driver and motorcyclist only sustained minor injuries.

The crash of the two vehicles culminated in a fire between the two vehicles and the Fire and Rescue Department was called to the scene immediately to extinguish the fire.

When the driver got out of his car, he was stopped by a group of aggrieved passers-by who started scolding and hitting him.

The driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, was confused with the situation initially and mumbled some words.

Subsequently, he held up his hands and said that he was "sorry" and pleaded with the crowd to stop "hitting me".

A few of the driver's friends stepped forward to try to placate the angry mob.

They eventually led the driver away.
