A king cobra and a reticulated python put on quite a show as they were caught on video engaged in a bit of fighting in MacRitchie Reservoir Park along the walking trail.

The 36-second video posted on May 30 shows the cobra trying to take a bite out of the python before slithering away:

Based on the footage, both snakes looked to be as at least two metres in length.

The location where this footage is shot is on the MacRitchie Nature Trail that links to Upper Peirce Reservoir, closer to Upper Thomson Road.

The python reportedly died after it was bitten.

This is not the first time snakes of such lengths have been caught on camera.

In August 2015, a reticulated python and a king cobra were seen fighting in broad daylight at the Research Techno Plaza in the Nanyang Technological University.

The python was caught by pest control but the cobra managed to get away.

Singapore's wildlife has been a source of fascination as the highly urbanised environment is still capable of sustaining a diverse range of flora and fauna species.
