If your mother ever told you not to talk to strangers online, you might be missing out on meeting your life partner.
Alvin Lau and Alexis Loo met on Diablo III, an action role-playing video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The former plays a Crusader while the latter takes on the role of a Demon Hunter. Their online friendship developed into a romance, which then made it all the way to marriage.
As a tribute to their origins, the couple had a Diablo-themed pre-wedding shoot, complete with full-body armour and weapons.
While the pictures may look authentic and effortless, the team at Mezame shared their experience and difficulties with the logistics of the shoot, mainly with locations and costumes.
The photographer would first shoot at various locations around Singapore (even going so far as Malaysia on one occasion) before shooting the couple separately in a studio, then putting the two together with editing software.
For the figure of Diablo himself, the photographer shot a replica of Diablo with macro lens.
Costumes and weapons were painstakingly made from foam and cloth by Neo Tokyo Project.
