After what was an unexpectedly long National Day Rally 2016 night, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's wife, Ho Ching, has taken to Facebook at 2.28am to thank everyone for their well-wishes:

Ho was seen hurrying to the exit with the security officer at the conclusion of the NDR earlier in the night:

It was reported that PM Lee left ITE College Central, where the NDR rally was held, and headed to Singapore General Hospital for a check-up.

The prime minister was taken ill at about 9.18pm, some one hour and 20 minutes into his rally speech, when he had to stop as he appeared faint and stumbled on stage.

He re-emerged an hour later to complete his NDR as he looked visibly jovial after returning on stage.
