The G20 Leaders’ Summit held in Germany concluded yesterday (July 8), with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong racking up many meetings with world leaders to discuss various topics, including global economic growth, trade and finance, digitalisation and jobs, as well as other global challenges such as climate change and public health.
The video highlights of PM Lee's visit to the summit held from July 7 to 8, and his numerous meetings with various world leaders are featured in this Facebook video:
Judging from the video highlights, things probably went at a frenetic pace over the two days that the summit was held, which also saw PM Lee meeting with US President Donald J Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the summit's sidelines.
The video also shows that PM Lee did not go on this trip to Germany alone. He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.
And given the seemingly frenetic pace at the summit, it is impressive that Heng has managed to keep up with PM Lee over the last two days in Germany. He can be spotted in the major meetings that PM Lee had with other leaders.
Here he is being introduced to German Chancellor Angela Merkel:

And while the video did not show it, Heng was also present at PM's meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe:

Heng had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that left him bedridden for a month and a half, between May and June last year.
Since then, he has made a remarkable recovery. His first official overseas trip after returning to work took place in May this year, when he went to Japan to attend the Asean+3 finance ministers’ and central bank governors’ meeting, as well as the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank.
Last month, Heng also attended the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s 2nd Annual Meeting in Jeju, South Korea.
It looks like Heng is back in the full swing of things. Perhaps, he is back in the running to become our fourth generation PM too?
