A 9 year old primary school boy poured Dettol into a female classmate's water bottle, to win the heart of another.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the incident occured in a primary school in Jurong and all were primary three students.

According to the report, the two girls involved used to be good friends, but they fell out over a trivial matter. The boy decided to teach one of the girls a lesson, in order to get into the good books of the other girl.

On Mar. 22, the boy went back to his classroom right after recess time, and secretly poured a small bottel of Dettol Sanitiser into the victim's water bottle.

The victim fell ill after drinking the water. She was admitted to hospital for fever and vomitting.

Her foreign domestic helper at home discovered that there were many bubbles in the water in her water bottle and informed the victim's father, prompting him to seek redress from the school.

The report said that the boy admitted to his rash act on the spot.

The victim told Wanbao that she noticed the boy giggling when she was drinking water in class. She also remembered that the boy had said to her recently, "I will poison you to death!"

"I thought he was joking, I never thought he will really do it."

A police report has been made and that investigations are ongoing, the police told The Straits Times on Friday.
