M'sian student requests to skip lecture to attend grandmother's funeral, lecturer insists on him submitting evidence

Sometimes, you need trust. And a bit of sensitivity.

Sometimes tragedies happen, and you have no choice but to disrupt regular plans to attend to them.

That was the situation facing Twitter user Roshen Maghhan.

His grandmother had passed away, and he had a lecture in school that clashed with funeral prayers for her.

Which to attend? Easy decision to make, right?

Nope.

Even though Roshen was responsible enough to text his lecturer to inform her about his absence, in advance of the prayer session the next day, his lecturer wasn't all that understanding of his plight.

According to the Twitter user, this wasn't the first time the lecturer did this sort of thing either.

Worst thing was, the next day saw his lecturer asking for his grandma's death certificate:
