If you were on social media over the weekend, you might have noticed the long queues that formed outside Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) outlets thanks to their free croissant promotion.

On Apr. 1, customers were able to get a croissant stamp card if they whispered, “I heard a rumour that I can get free croissants for a week” to the bakery's counter staff and bought a beverage.

The card entitles customers to a week's worth of croissants. Of course, the stamp cards were fully redeemed at all outlets by the end of Apr. 1.

Scalper things

Due to the cards' limited availability, opportunistic and perhaps “entrepreneurial” residents of Singapore have resorted to selling them on Carousell.

As of time of writing, there were seven of such listings.

The lowest was priced at S$10, while the highest-priced listing was at S$20.

The S$10 listing was the cheapest as it appeared that the seller had already redeemed one croissant for themself.

For calculation purposes, a croissant from TBB is priced at S$4 excluding GST, so each card is probably worth more than S$30.

Some sellers appeared to have done their homework by listing down how they priced the stamp cards.

It may seem to be a steal for some, but remember: Each stamp card was attained by purchasing a beverage, which are priced between S$4.20 and S$8.

Up to you to decide whether it’s worth it or not.
