Mediacorp actor Richie Koh has won the coveted Best Actor award in this year's Star Awards for his role in "Your World In Mine".
The 29-year-old edged out other nominees Brandon Wong, Qi Yuwu, Ayden Sng and Desmond Ng to clinch the award.
This is his first Best Actor nomination.
He is the second youngest in Star Awards history to have won the award. The record was set in 1997 by Christopher Lee for his role in "The Price of Peace".
Lee was 26 then.
Koh plays Zheng Tian Cai, a 21-year-old who has the intellectual age of a seven-year-old in the drama series, which swept several other award categories during this year's ceremony.
"Your World In Mine" was the big winner this year, having swept accolades for Best Drama, Best Theme Song, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.
"Your world is very beautiful, and now we all know that"
After being ushered to the stage amid thunderous applause from the audience, Koh shared a short but heartfelt speech.
He said: "Being able to take on a challenging role like this, is I believe something every actor hopes for. Being able to tell the story of a kid with an intellectual disability, and of their families, has been my honour."
Koh went on to thank those around him who have always supported him, including his agency, those behind-the-scenes, co-actors, and his family.
"I also want to thank Johannes and Anna, for letting me into your world. Your world is very beautiful, and now we all know that."
Koh then cheekily took a photo with Hong Kong singer Sammi Cheng to commemorate his win.
In response to Mothership's question in an post-award interview, Koh shared briefly about what's next in store for him after his win.
He said:
"I think the step has always been the same for me. After every drama and every show, you just have to reset yourself again for a different role.
This [award] is a byproduct of what we have done. But we don't work for this; we work to tell the story."
Huang Biren wins Best Actress
Huang Biren, 54, who played Koh's mum in "Your World In Mine", won the Best Actress award this year.
Similarly, she thanked those in the production team and her supporters, and shared:
"I want to take this chance to tell people with special needs and their families, especially their parents – your world, we understand it. If anyone still doesn't understand it, please watch "Your World In Mine"."
