A 20-year-old full-time national serviceman with the Singapore Police Force (SPF) pleaded guilty to a corruption charge after he tried to obtain free sexual services from a social escort by showing his warrant card.

Fahd Siddiqui was convicted on Apr. 4 for attempting to obtain gratification in the form of sexual services from the social escort, with a second charge of corruption taken into consideration.

Was looking for services of a social escort on Nov. 1, 2022

According to court documents seen by Mothership, Fahd had been deployed as a Ground Response Force officer at Orchard Neighbourhood Police Centre in Tanglin Division and was off-duty at the time of his offences.

On Nov. 1, 2022, Fahd contacted a number listed on the classifieds site Locanto to ask about the sexual services of a social escort.

He was informed that the social escort was residing at Robertson Quay Hotel, and her services cost S$400.

Fahd then went to the escort's room at 9pm on the same day.

When they met, Fahd told the escort that she was not the same woman as the person he had seen on Locanto.

He added that he was not interested and left the room.

Flashed his police ID at the escort

Fahd subsequently returned to the social escort's room a short while later after her agent told him that the price of the sexual services could be lowered.

Upon returning to the room, he showed his warrant card and identified himself as a police officer.

Fahd then told the escort that he would report her to the police unless they could reach some form of "arrangement", by which he meant if the social escort provided him with free sexual services, he would not report her to the police.

The social escort did not agree to Fahd's suggestion and began crying.

Escort just arrived in Singapore

She said she did not want any trouble and that she had only just arrived in Singapore.

The social escort also called her agent as she was feeling afraid.

While she was on the phone, Fahd left the room.

He did not receive any sexual services.

The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) subsequently received information about his actions on Nov. 6.

Court called for probation and reformation training reports

The court called for both probation and reformation training reports for Fahd.

A person convicted of a corruption offence under Section 6 of the Prevention of Corruption Act faces a fine of up to S$100,000, up to five years' imprisonment, or both.

Fahd is scheduled to be sentenced after both reports are ready.

Removed from frontlines

Responding to earlier queries from Mothership, the police said Fahd, a special constable, had been removed from frontline duties before having his case referred to CPIB.

"Officers of the Singapore Police Force (SPF), including National Service (NS) officers, are expected to uphold the law and maintain high standards of discipline and integrity. We deal severely with officers who break the law, including charging them in court, or referring them to an appropriate authority for investigations."
