The site at 30 Cosford Road near Changi Airport is being developed into a food and beverage container park, which will be one of Singapore’s largest when completed some time later in 2023.
The S$3 million Cosford Container Park project by Tee Tree Investments covers over 38,000 sq ft with enough space for 13 container units up for rental.
The indoor and outdoor seating areas can fit 340 people with a view of Changi Airport’s landing strip.
This location used to house 555 Villa Thai restaurant.
The outdoor performance stage will come with a large digital screen.
Tee Tree Investments will also redevelop 27 Cosford Road, which it recently leased through a tender.
This is the Johore Battery site, which is adjacent to Cosford Container Park.
Plans for 27 Cosford Road are still on the drawing board.
Background of 30 Cosford Road
The food and beverage (F&B) space once housed heavy artillery during World War II, and has been marked as a historic site by the National Heritage Board.
30 Cosford Road was part of the main artillery battery of the British coastal defence network built in the 1930s.
In 1942, two of the three guns were turned around and fired inwards towards land for the first time in response to the Japanese invasion from the Malay Peninsula.
