Ng Kim Huat, 21, whose dad is S’porean, slated to make K-pop debut this June

21-year-old Ng Kim Huat, who says he is half Singaporean, will be making his debut in an upcoming K-pop group.

He was born and raised in the Philippines.

Road to stardom

Ng will be part of HORI7ON, a seven-member boy group under Korean agency MLD Entertainment.

The group was formed through the reality show "Dream Maker", which aired from Nov. 19, 2022 to Feb. 12, 2023.

Produced by MLD Entertainment and Filipino media company ABS-CBN,  the show is described as a “collaboration between K-pop and P-pop [Philippine pop].”

Members of the group were determined by popular vote, which was open to the public.

Ng ranked sixth in the final, securing him a spot in the group.

To make South Korean debut in June

According to MLD Entertainment, the group will promote in the Philippines until March.

This includes appearing on local TV programs and giving performances.

They will then move to South Korea to prepare for their debut there, which is slated for this June.
