For the uninitiated, Singaporean actress Jayley Woo recently gave birth to her firstborn child on Jan. 20, a week before her estimated delivery date (EDD).
Despite being only two months old, the baby has already been involved in her first endorsement deal.
Has signed deals with four brands
Speaking to Mothership, Woo shared that she has signed deals with four brands after giving birth to her daughter, who is named Jan.
These includes endorsements from a diaper brand.
Although she enjoys doing these endorsements, Woo emphasised that her main priority now is to spend time with the baby.
"Kids grow up really fast so I don't want to miss out on this precious period with Jan," she explained.
Being under the limelight since her birth
Woo and her husband co-manage their baby's Instagram account.
"It's just a place to share her photos so all of us can look back at it when she's older," she explained.
Jan's Instagram account currently has over 5,000 followers.
When asked whether there were any concerns regarding her daughter being under the limelight at such a young age, Woo shared:
"I don’t think she has any pressure at all at this point in her life as she doesn't know anything yet, but my hubby and I have discussed this.
We will respect her decision on whether she wants to be [a public figure] when she is old enough to make her own decision [...] If she doesn't mind being under the limelight, I’ll let her manage her own account and just continue what I have been doing with mine."
"Keep being you"
As a public figure with over 450,000 followers on Instagram, Woo is no stranger to negative comments from netizens.
She recalls to Mothership that she once received death threats when she started blogging.
Despite this, the actress chooses to remain optimistic and understands that she can't please everyone.
"For me, social media is a part and parcel of my life. So far, I have been quite true to myself with regards to posting videos or photos of my life as it is [my] online diary," she said.
"I’m simply just living my life to the best I can. I mean, you only [have] one life, why not just live it?"
Woo also hopes to cultivate these values in her daughter when she grows older in the future.
“I'll tell her: 'Be yourself. You are the only one in this world and no one else can take your place.'”
