Project SuperStar alum Derrick Hoh has been taking his daddy duties very seriously since the birth of first child, nicknamed Nori, in August.
Hands-on parenting
The 37-year-old has been sharing his parenthood journey on his Instagram account.
Among the skills he's picked up is how to bottle feed his daughter, and how to swaddle her.
Points out problem with nursing rooms in Singapore
With how hands-on Hoh has been with Nori, he has understandably visited nursing rooms in shopping centres across Singapore.
He revealed in a Nov. 10 post that he has encountered multiple nursing rooms in malls that do not allow fathers to enter.
"On one end we are trying to eliminate toxic masculinity but on the other end the situation doesn't set up willing fathers for success to help out their partners (sic)," he opined.
Instead of shaming the malls which he feels can do better, he gave a shoutout to JEM for having "the most Dad-friendly nursing room we have ever been to, at least so far".
Apart from doors that will only open for parents with children or babies, the nursing room also has a toilet for children to use.
Hoh explained this helps fathers with young daughters, as the alternative would be to bring their girls to the men's room, which could be "awkward".
What other parents think
Other parents shared their thoughts in the comments section of Hoh's post, and he has responded to some.
Good to know.
