The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will be deferring In-Camp-Training (ICT), said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in a Facebook post on Friday (Jul 23).

Only ICT call-ups that are "essential for operations" will continue.

MINDEF said that activities that were "critical for build-up of operational units" would also continue with safe management measures (SMMs) in place.

This includes training schools such as the Officer Cadet School, Specialist Cadet School, and the Basic Military Training Centre, which will all continue training with enhanced measures.

IPPT suspended, one-time waiver for those affected

Fitness Conditioning Centres (FCCs) will be closed, and the conduct of Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) and NS Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) at FCCs, SAFRA gyms and public locations will be suspended.

NSmen whose IPPT window closure are within the suspension period will be given a one-time waiver of their annual IPPT requirement.

FIT@HOME, which is conducted virtually, will remain available with additional slots.

Large-scale events will also be cancelled, deferred or reduced in size.

According to MINDEF, these measures will take immediate effect, and will be in place until Aug. 18, 2021.
