Local supermarket chain Sheng Siong has gained quite the reputation of late for rewarding its staff handsomely.

And it appears at least some of that generosity has spilled over to the way that its staff treat customers.

A post was put up on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group, but of the non-complaint variety.

"Just want to share how delightful the services of Sheng Siong Supermarket," wrote Alvin Loh.

Wife cut her hand while shopping

Together with his wife, he had visited the supermarket's Fajar outlet on the morning of Jun. 2.

While perusing the outlet's fish, Loh's wife accidentally cut herself.

Seemingly unbothered by the injury, Loh and his wife continued their shopping, as Loh wrote that "it was a small cut anyway."

Staff member went the extra mile

However, after the couple had moved on to the vegetable section of the store, the staff member minding the fish counter came looking for them.

He had noticed the little accident and brought with him medication, cotton, and a band aid.

"It was amazing and caring... so impressive," gushed Loh who attached a photo of his wife being attended to by the thoughtful staff member.

"Keep up the good job"

Commenters on the post were equally effusive in their praise of the staff member and the supermarket in general.

Some also pointed out how the Sheng Siong's leadership had set the tone for such acts of kindness.
