Clementi death: 2 more persons, aged 41 & 62, charged with grievously hurting teen girl, 19, with wooden pole

Two additional people have been charged a week after a 19-year-old teenage girl was found dead at Block 602 Clementi West Street 1.

Chee Mei Wan, 41, a Singapore permanent resident, and Lim Peng Tiong, 62, were charged on Wednesday, May 12 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Huang Baoying by hitting her with a wooden pole.

Huang Bocan, 29, the victim’s brother linked to her death, was charged a week ago.

The relationship between Chee, Lim and the deceased was not specified in the court documents.

The brother of the deceased had his charge amended.

He is now accused of sharing a common intention with Chee and Lim to cause grievous hurt to his sister by hitting her with the pole.

He was previously charged on May 6 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt to his sister.

Chinese newspaper Lianhe Wanbao ran a photo of the brother on its front page.

What happened

Huang Bocan is accused of hitting Huang Baoying with a wooden pole on Tuesday, May 4 at about 11pm at the block.

The police were alerted on Wednesday, May 5 at about 6.30am to a case of unnatural death at a residential unit.

The woman was already lying motionless in the unit when officers arrived.

If convicted, the three men could be jailed for up to 10 years and fined or caned.
