Spectacular rainbow spanning S'pore sky sighted after storm on Dec. 3

Most sighting from the northeast.

December continues to be a wet and hot month.

But the abundance of sunshine and rain in the month increases the chance to see a rainbow.

Sure enough, several residents in Singapore were awed by a wide-spanning rainbow on the late afternoon of Dec. 3 after a storm.

Most of the sightings came from the east side and central Singapore.

Here are some photos that captured the beautiful natural phenomenon that day:

According to Tan, the rainbow lasted for a brief 10 minutes.

Near Istana

While most photos shared online appeared to come from northeast Singapore, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat managed to catch a glimpse of a double rainbow that afternoon near Istana.
