Waves to family at Johor from Woodlands
Two video clips of the man were uploaded onto Facebook on Oct. 5.
He appears to be video-calling his family from a jetty at Woodlands Waterfront Park.
He asks in Malay: "Where are you?"
A woman's voice can be heard on his phone, replying in Malay: "I'm here, wearing a black and white shirt. Can you see me?"
The man then approaches the edge of the jetty and waves his left hand.
In the second clip, laughter can be heard from his phone and a child's voice excitedly says: "Hi, papa!"
Two young children
In a subsequent post, a video and some photos were uploaded to show his family's point of view from Johor.
Two women with two young children can be seen waving to him.

JB wants to speed up full reopening of borders
Malaysia's recovery movement control order (MCO) period will last until the end of the year, Dec. 31, 2020.
However, the head of government for the state of Johor, Hasni Mohammad, has expressed his desire for Malaysia's federal government to speed up the process of a full opening of Malaysia-Singapore borders.
He met with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss the matter, and has also submitted working papers and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to Malaysia's foreign ministry.
On Sep. 11, Malaysia's Health Minister Adham Baba said that the country will assess the MCO period over the subsequent four months to determine if it would be possible to open borders with Singapore fully.
