Old Changi Hospital is often touted to be one of the most haunted locations in Singapore.

The site has even become a popular spot among paranormal hunters and filmmakers.

For Singaporeans looking for a little something out of the ordinary, there is now the opportunity to explore the site.

Well, not actually inside the hospital. But around and near it.

Old Changi Hospital night walk

According to a Facebook event posted by Explorersg, it appears that there will be a "haunted tour" to "look into the Old Changi Hospital".

Titled "Halloween Special: Haunted Old Changi Hospital Night Walk", the walk will be taking place on Oct. 17.

The walk, which will start and end at Changi Village, is a 5km route.

The highlights of the walk are described as the following:

"- Visit the Old Changi Hospital from the main and back entrance

- An opportunity to spot paranormal activity

- Get spooked!"

According to the meet-up event page, attendees have to RSVP by indicating that they are "going".

Those not comfortable with paranormal activities are advised not to RSVP.

It appears that there are only 10 slots, and at the time of writing, there are over 400 people on the waitlist.

History of Old Changi Hospital

Old Changi Hospital has been inaccessible to the public for some time now.

Several of the hospital's blocks were built in the 1930s as part of a British military base.

During the Japanese Occupation, the military base in Changi was converted into a POW camp that housed POWs including captured allied troops.

It is believed that the hospital was the scene of tortures and executions carried out by the Japanese soldiers.

After the war, the British took over the hospital again but eventually handed it over to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1975.
