6 S'porean men & 4 Thai women charged for gathering to drink & chat at Golden Mile Tower during Phase 1

All 10 of the accused have been charged with two counts of breaking Covid-19 regulations.

Six Singaporean men and four Thai women were charged on Aug. 4, for meeting to drink alcohol, eat and chat with one another during Phase 1 of the the lifting of the Circuit Breaker, CNA reported.

According to charge sheets seen by Mothership, the meeting happened on June 11, at a unit on the first-floor of Block 6001, Golden Mile Tower, between 3pm and 10pm.

At the time of Phase 1, which lasted from June 2 to June 19, social gatherings involving people from different households had remained prohibited.

All 10 of the suspects have since been charged with two counts of breaking Covid-19 regulations — one for gathering without reasonable excuse, and another for leaving their homes without reasonable excuse.

Men are aged between 32-57, while women are aged 24-33

The six men are:

  • Peter Ngin, 52,
  • Ho Hua Heng, 51,
  • Kwok Kian Ghin, 57,
  • Lek Guan Heng, 56,
  • Rainven Tan Choon Chye, 50,
  • Loo Jiale, 32.

The four women are:

  • Ketthim Supatsara, 24,
  • Bunkhan Supapron, 33,
  • Khamsam Wararat,30,
  • Ob-un Wanwisa, 30.

Under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act, the 10 accused face either a fine of up to S$10,000, a jail term of up to six months, or both.

They are set to plead guilty on Aug. 28, CNA highlighted.
