3 men, aged between 16 & 21, arrested for involvement in Toa Payoh Lor 1 slashing

The victim was allegedly meeting his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend before being ambushed.

Three men, aged between 16 and 21, have been arrested for their involvement in a slashing incident in Toa Payoh Lorong 1, which took place on May 27, 2020.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was allegedly attacked by a group of four to five men, landing him in hospital with serious injuries.

Charged in court on May 30

The victim was allegedly meeting his girlfriend's former boyfriend at a void deck, before being ambushed by the assailants, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The Singapore police said the man sustained lacerations on his head and body, and was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted investigations, and established the identities of the men shortly after.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and the assailants are believed to be known to one another.

The three men were arrested on May 28 and 29, and will be charged in court on Saturday, May 30 for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention.

If convicted, they can be punished with imprisonment for up to seven years, or a fine, or be caned, or any combination of such punishments.
