4th man charged over alleged participation in Chinatown HDB corridor brawl

The 13th man allegedly linked to a weekend Chinatown brawl has been arrested and charged in a district court on May 15.

Muhammad Ilham Noordin, 18, is accused of rioting while armed with a weapon on the 16th storey of Block 101, Upper Cross Street, People's Park Centre around 3.30am on May 10.

He will be remanded at Central Police Division.

His next court appearance will be on May 21.

The youth allegedly ganged up with four men to cause hurt to five others.

His alleged accomplices are:

Muhammad Roslan Mohamed Rumli, 29

Muhammad Farid Surian, 20

Noor Najat Alwi, 20

Muhammad Syukri Muhammad Iskandar, age not stated in court documents and still on the run

Roslan, Farid, and Noor were each handed a similar charge on Thursday.

These three men now remanded at Central Police Division.

The members of the other group are:

Muhamad Afiq Hilmi Mohamed Azmi

Mohammad Zunnur Haq Abdullah

Muhammad Syafie Abdul Razak

Muhammad Fadli Ahnaf Tan

The 10-men brawl allegedly took place following a relationship dispute over a woman, the police said previously.

The police were alerted to the riot on Sunday morning and arrested three people at the scene.

Shazryl Hykel, 19, was injured and taken to Singapore General Hospital.

Closed-circuit television captured a video of the early morning incident.

Footage showed two groups fighting on the 16th storey corridor of a HDB block of flats.

The minute-long video was shared on social media and WhatsApp group chats.

One still on the run

One person, Syukri, is still not found.

Eight men and one woman were arrested on May 12 following a manhunt by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence Department and Central Police Division.

The nine people arrested are between 18 and 28 years old.

Offenders convicted of rioting while armed with deadly weapons can be jailed for up to 10 years and caned.
