In Nov. 2019, Taiwanese actor Godfrey Gao passed away at the age of 35.

He had collapsed on set while filming a variety show "Chase Me" in China.

On May 20, 2020, his girlfriend Bella Su posted a series of photos of themselves to remember their relationship.

In her post, she revealed that they had been dating exactly five years ago, on May 20, 2015.

She also shared a photo of them at Palawan Island in the Philippines in 2019.

The last picture is a selfie of them at a restaurant on their first date.

520 = May 20

"520" represents the date May 20.

In Chinese, 520 (wǔ èr líng) sounds like "I love you" (wǒ ài nǐ).

As such, the date has gradually become another version of Valentines' Day in China, as couples celebrate their relationship and give each other gifts.

Their relationship had not been revealed yet before his death

Su's relationship with Gao was only confirmed after Gao's death as she flew to Zhejiang, China to bring his body back to Taipei, Taiwan.

On Dec. 31, 2019, Su posted pictures of her and Gao together.

Darren Jiang, a close friend of Gao, had also uploaded a 22-minute video on YouTube talking about his late friend on Dec. 2, 2019.

In the video, he mentioned that Gao was planning to propose to Su, and was going to invite Jiang down to witness the proposal.

Unfortunately, the proposal was planned for Nov. 28 2019, a day after his passing on Nov. 27.
