A 42-year-old woman who was filmed cursing and spitting at a KFC staff has been arrested by the Police.
Police investigating case and possible breaches of circuit breaker measures by woman
According to a news release, the Police had responded to a call for assistance at a KFC outlet in NEX shopping centre on April 22 at 12:48pm.
Investigations revealed that the woman had an argument with the service staff of the KFC outlet when she was told to wait for her order.
Unhappy with the wait, the woman shouted and spat at the staff.
When the Police arrived, the woman had already left the KFC outlet.
Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established her identity and arrested her on April 24.
On top of ongoing investigations, the Police are also looking at possible breaches of Covid-19 circuit breaker measures committed by the woman.
Offence of causing public nuisance carries a fine of up to S$2,000
Under Section 290 of the Penal Code, the offence of causing public nuisance carries a fine of up to S$2,000.
If the woman knew that her act would cause or would probably cause any common injury, danger or annoyance to anyone, the offence would carry an imprisonment term of up to three months, a fine of up to $2,000, or both.
The Police also advised Singaporeans to play their part during this circuit breaker period by being socially responsible, observing good personal hygiene, and being considerate to others.
