From April 15 to May 4, family members of the Pioneer Generation (PG) will be able to get discounted groceries on their behalf.

PG members are entitled to a 3 per cent discount when they spend up to S$200 at NTUC FairPrice outlets on Mondays and Wednesdays.

According to a statement by NTUC FairPrice, this initiative hopes to protect the well-being of the more senior cohort in the community.

FairPrice Group CEO Seah Kian Peng said:

β€œTo encourage PG members to stay home during the circuit breaker period, we are making an exception on the PG discount scheme to empower their family members to enjoy the special savings when they purchase groceries on their behalf. We hope that this – together with all our other current measures – will help to further protect and keep them safe during these challenging times.”

Family members cannot join priority entrance

On Mar. 24, NTUC FairPrice also announced a priority shopping hour every Monday for vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, people with disabilities and the elderly.

PG members will still need to be present to gain priority entrance into FairPrice stores.

Family members will not be allowed to utilise the PG card for the priority entrance.
