On Apr. 10, the Ministry of Health announced 198 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total tally to 2,108.
This is the fifth time in six days Singapore has seen a daily increase of over 100 new cases. The first instance was on Apr. 5, with 120 new cases.
Meanwhile, 32 more cases have been discharged from hospitals on Friday, which means a total of 492 cases have fully recovered and been discharged.
98 cases are linked to existing clusters and 29 linked to other cases.
However, 71 cases remain unlinked.
Of the 875 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 32 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. This is an increase of three.
Three new clusters have also been announced. They are a dormitory at 31 Sungei Kadut Avenue, ICA Building (10 Kallang Road), and a renovation site at the National University Hospital (5 Lower Kent Ridge Road).
A female patient died of Covid-19. She was an 86-year-old Singaporean citizen, identified as Patient 987.

Previous circuit breaker measures
Apr. 9 saw the spike in the number of confirmed cases involving foreign workers—over 200 of the 287 new cases were linked to the workers.
MOH also established potential links between six dormitory clusters and the Mustafa cluster.
In light of the surge of cases, measures have been put in place to house healthy foreign workers at separate premises.
Elevated safe distancing measures
Other circuit breaker measures were also announced on Thursday to elevate safe distancing.
Parents can no longer drop their kids off with their grandparents on a daily basis.
If such care arrangements are required, parents should leave kids with their grandparents throughout the entire circuit breaker period.
Childcare services have also been made available for those working in essential services.
Sports stadiums will also be closed following sightings of people gathering to exercise there.
These restrictions could become even more stringent in the coming days and weeks, warned Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong, is no improvement in the Covid-19 situation is seen.
