As of April 27, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 799 new cases of Covid-19 infection.
The vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories, while 14 are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.
There are now 14,423 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Singapore.
According to MOH, details of the cases are currently being worked on, and further updates will be shared via a separate press release later tonight.
The number of imported cases has been at zero since after April 17, but Sunday (April 26) saw two Singaporeans who returned from overseas on April 10 testing positive and classified as imported cases, two days after finishing their 14-day Stay-Home Notice periods.
Rise of cases in foreign worker dormitories
The S11 Dormitory @ Punggol has since April 7 been home to the largest cluster of locally-transmitted cases in Singapore, after first emerging as a cluster on March 30.
There are now 2,275 cases among workers staying at the dormitory as of Sunday, April 26.
Several of Singapore's largest clusters of cases now come from foreign worker dormitories, with at least 13 clusters at dorms seeing more than 100 confirmed infections reported last week:
On April 20, it was also revealed that Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories formed about 75 per cent of the total number of Covid-19 infections here since the start of the outbreak in Singapore in late January.
