A Singaporean woman recently experienced what she described as the best flight of her life.

Best flight

In a post on social media, the woman shared clips of her recent Singapore Airlines flight from Korea back to Singapore.

The brief video showed a nearly empty cabin, save for a few other people laying down straight across the seats.

Here's a screenshot of the empty rows.

The woman shared that with the lack of passengers, she couldn't even recall how many times she had been served by the stewardess with snacks and drinks.

She added in another post that she did not typically enjoy long-haul flights, but that this was "best flight" in her life.

Unfortunately, the woman's social media account has since been made private.

Travellers from Korea barred from entering Singapore

In response to curious social media users on the thread, the woman revealed the reason for the empty flight.

She stated that non-Singaporeans were barred from boarding the flight.

This apparently resulted in a "huge commotion", especially for those who were supposed to transit in Singapore.

These stringent restrictions by SIA are due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Singapore government announced that from Mar. 4 onward, all visitors with recent travel history to South Korea, as well as Iran and northern Italy, within the last 14 days, will not be allowed into Singapore.

This is in light of the burgeoning number of Covid-19 cases in the three countries.

This could very well explain why only Singaporeans were allowed on that particular SIA flight.

Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long term pass holders on the other hand, would be issued with a Stay-Home-Notice (SHN).

The woman herself was not exempted from this.

In response to another user's question, she revealed that she would have to isolate herself at home for 14 days after arriving in Singapore.
