VivoCity quashes rumour of coronavirus infection & closure due to disinfection

There were fewer people spotted after the rumour.

VivoCity has quashed rumours that a person infected with the coronavirus was spotted in the mall, and that the mall was closed for disinfection.

"It has come to our attention that there are rumors circulating about the presence of an individual infected by the Novel Coronavirus at VivoCity and that the mall has ceased operations for disinfection," VivoCity said in a Facebook post at around noon.

"We would like to clarify that this is not true, and the mall is operational as normal from 10am – 10pm."

Unfortunately, the rumour may still have affected visitorship. The crowd at VivoCity was visibly thinner than usual at around 7:30pm:
