SingPost Communications Chief posts sassy clapback to customer who wished coronavirus on staff

Whew.

Sure, SingPost has its faults.

So faulty that it has been fined S$300,000 in 2018 for doing a bad job in delivering letters.

And that's after being fined S$100,000 in 2017.

But that's no reason to wish the coronavirus (Covid-19) on all their staff, like one Keiv Kuan did:

Kuan had wished for them to be infected simply because his deliveries have not been successful.

In response, the Group Chief Brand and Communications Officer of SingPost, Robin Goh, replied with what is possibly the best clapback by a corporation.

Lengthy reply

Goh first identifies himself and says that he has "personally investigated" Kuan's case.

In a paragraph dripping with sarcasm, the Group Chief told Kuan that he actually hoped that his staff have committed a truly "grave" mistake, so that the vicious comment towards them might be justified.

Sadly, Goh had failed to find such a mistake.

After elaborating on the delivery failures, Goh went on to say that all SingPost staff are human, and have families and loved ones.

Goh added that in this period, SingPost has been trying to ensure the well-being of their staff, so that they may be able to continue serving the community in good health and good spirits.

Unfortunately, Goh said, Kuan is sorely lacking in the latter.

While the delivery has been resolved, it seems that there is still one thing left: Correcting Kuan's grammar.

In response to queries by Mothership, SingPost confirms that the comment was indeed made by them.

However, the comment can no longer be found on their posts. Kuan's account appears to be unavailable as well.
