Hubei man with fever removes mask & coughs at medical staff because he can't buy medication

According to CCTV footage uploaded onto Chinese video-sharing platform Pear Video, a man was seen coughing at hospital staff in Xiaogan city, Hubei.

Apparently because he was unable to buy medication at the hospital.

Coughed at medical staff

The incident took place at Xiaogan Maternity and Child Care Hospital on Jan. 27.

A man in a black hoodie and a woman in a red hoodie came to the reception counter manned by two medical staff.

The man slammed his fist on the counter, before proceeding to take out a slip of paper.

He then pulled down his mask and started coughing towards it before forcefully coughing at the medical staff.

The two medical staff immediately stood up and moved away from the man.

Was not infected with Wuhan virus

According a phone interview with Pear Video, the hospital said that man had a high fever for four days, and he came to the hospital to get a consultation.

After learning that the hospital didn't have the medicine he needed, the man started to act aggressively towards the medical staff.

The hospital also clarified that the man had only contracted the flu, and was not infected with the Wuhan virus.

The hospital also said that the affected staff have not been infected and the room has since been disinfected.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
