Carousell manager, 26, emerges champion at Star Search 2019

The finals of Star Search 2019 took place on November 3, 2019.

The talent competition, which has just returned from a nine-year hiatus, saw 26-year-old Teoh Zetong emerge victorious among 12 contestants.

Teoh is an associate customer relationship manager at Carousell.

According to 8 Days, the NUS graduate majored in Business Administration, and scored "all distinctions" for his A-Levels.

Herman Keh, 23, came second, while Ye Jiayun, 17, pulled up third.

The judging criteria are:

  • Charisma, attractiveness, and X-factor (20 per cent)
  • Dance (10 per cent)
  • Eloquence (20 per cent)
  • Acting (50 per cent)

Decision-making is informed by a panel of five judges: Veterans from the Hong Kong entertainment industry Carina Lau, Simon Yam, and Stephen Fung, as well as Doreen Neo (Chief Content Officer of Mediacorp) and Man Shu Sum (Member of Singapore Film Commission Advisory Board).
