Grades aren't everything.

The PSLE results' release day is on Nov. 21.

While most parents are anxious about their children's results, the Ministry of Education (MOE) wants the adults to focus less on the results, but celebrate their children's efforts as well.

In a Facebook post on Nov. 19, MOE posted an infographic sharing tips from primary school teachers on what parents can do on the important day itself.

Grades aren't everything, so don't compare

For the busy parents who cannot physically be with their children on the day of results release, it is recommended that parents call their children before and after the event, in order to let their children know that they are there for them.

Parents should also celebrate their children's hard work and effort, regardless of their results, according to the inforgraphic, "celebrate effort, not results".

The message is that as long as the students have given their best, parents should not put so much focus on the grades.

Parents are also advised not to compare their child's results with others.

After all, doing so may cause children to think that their grades define who they are, and could foster unhealthy competition.

Instead, parents should let their children know they love them, regardless of their results.

The pressure is on parents now.
