Chia was, however, not the least ruffled.

Video with Miss Philippines goes viral
On November 2, a 16-second video featuring Chia and Miss Philippines International went viral, garnering more than 1.1 million views and over 36,000 shares in less than two days.
The insta-video was first uploaded by one Rommel Dave Mallari on Facebook with the caption:
"Miss International Singapore, why did you drink it? ? You must be surprised Miss Philippines is using it to wash (her hands) ?"

According to the video, both contestants were filmed at Yutoku Jinja shrine in Japan's Kashima city.
Yutoku Jinja shrine is one of the most famous Inari shrines in Japan.
Breakdown of video
In the video, Chia can first be seen scooping up some water from the temizusha (area for ritual cleansing) into her mouth before spitting it out onto the ground in front of her.
Miss Philippines International can then be seen following instructions to wash her left hand with water drawn from the same pool of water.
Just as she scoops up the water and rinses her hand, the same water can be seen trickling back down into the temizusha as Chia looks on at her.
Filipino netizens mock Chia
This short video seemed to conjure a wave of laughter and mockery from many Filipino netizens who wondered why Chia rinsed her mouth with the water at the temizusha instead of washing her hands with it:

One netizen even mocked Chia's intelligence:

One netizen defends Chia
However, one Filipino netizen stepped up to defend Chia by stating that what she had done was not wrong, and was simply the next step in the cleansing ritual after washing her hands:

A quick check on Yutoku Inari shrine's website will also confirm that Chia was indeed observing proper temple etiquette:
This is the place where one washes their hands and rinses their mouth before worshipping. To use the water from the temizusha for the purposes of cleaning is called "taking the temizu":
1) Take the ladle by the right hand, and cleanse your left hand.
2) Next, take the ladle with your left hand and do the same for your right hand.
3) Take ladle with your right hand again, and use your left palm to scoop the water, and rinse your mouth.
4) After rinsing your mouth, cleanse your left hand again. Put the ladle back in its original position face down.
Guess Chia has the last laugh, then?
