Ronny Chieng doing stand-up comedy show in S'pore on Nov. 29, 2019

Back after more than four years.

Ronny Chieng, who can speak Mandarin, is coming to Singapore.

The United States-based award-winning comedian will return to his part-time home this Nov. 29, 2019 for his Tone Issues Tour.

The 33-year-old has a brand-new show on the back of filming his debut Netflix comedy special in Los Angeles and a 30-plus date tour in the US, Australia & New Zealand.

It will be held at the Esplanade Theatre at 7pm.

Tickets start at S$68 and available at Sistic from Oct. 17, 2019.

Star has risen

Chieng starred in 2018's Crazy Rich Asians, is a correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

This will be Chieng’s first tour in Singapore in over four years.

The past few years have seen Chieng’s star rise since relocating to New York after scoring a coveted correspondents role on the Emmy Award-winning The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

Chieng is also the creator, writer, and star of TV series Ronny Chieng: International Student.

Born in Johor

Chieng was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire and Singapore.

He was a law student in Australia when he started performing comedy.

He is a previous winner of both the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer and Director’s Choice Awards, and won the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Best Show award in 2014.

He has also previously been nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release, and a Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer.

Chieng has appeared multiple times at Montreal’s invite-only Just For Laughs, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, and in Singapore.
