Natalie Siow Yu Zhen, 23, the only woman linked to the high-profile Orchard Towers murder, has been slapped with fresh charges on Friday, Oct. 25.

These new charges include

• consorting with co-accused Tan Sen Yang, who allegedly possessed an offensive weapon on July 2, the day of the murder, and

• behaving in a disorderly manner.

The charge sheet said Siow tried to kick and push a group of patrons at the main entrance of Naughty Girl Club as she repeatedly charged at them.

Siow is represented by lawyers Amarick Gill and Cheryl Ng.

The victim, Satheesh Noel Gobidass, died from his injuries after being taken to hospital.

Anyone found knowingly consorting with a person possessing a dangerous weapon can be jailed up to three years and given at least six strokes of the cane.

Those found guilty of behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place can be jailed for up to six months, fined a maximum S$2,000 or both, if it is the first conviction.

For voluntarily causing hurt with common intention, those found guilty can be jailed up to two years, given a maximum S$5,000 fine, or both.

As Siow is a woman, she will not be caned.

She will return to court on Nov. 29.

Background

Siow burst into tears in court on Oct. 18 after her murder charge was demoted to voluntarily causing hurt.

She is out on S$15,000 bail.

She thanked those who offered her support the past four months after she got out of remand.

She was among seven people who were initially charged with murder with common intention.
