A man was found dead in a ground floor rubbish chute area in Woodlands on Monday, Aug. 12.

In a statement shared with Mothership police said they were alerted to the discovery at 12:05pm, at Block 677, Woodlands Avenue 6.

Police said a 64-year old man was found motionless near the ground floor rubbish chute area, and was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene.

Mothership also understands that the body was found in the general rubbish chute area, rather than within the chute itself.

According to The Straits Times, a passerby noticed the cordoned area as she approached the block.

She reportedly heard from the housing estate's cleaning crew that the man was found when they opened the door to the ground floor rubbish chute area in the morning.

Police investigations are underway.
