Yet another bookstore is moving out of its physical retail space.
Come Sept. 23, 2019, Times Bookstores will be no longer occupy its space at The Centrepoint.
To clear out, members will get up to 50 percent off purchases, while non-members can enjoy 30 percent discounts.We have gotten in touch with Times for more details of the sale and will update this article when they reply.
Speaking to The New Paper, a Times Bookstores spokesperson said that the closure is "part of Times Bookstores' ongoing renewal of store locations from time to time".
After Sept. 23, Times Bookstores has six other outlets, including stores at Marina Square, Waterway Point, Paragon, and Plaza Singapura.
News of this exit comes after news of Kinokuniya and MPH's closure.
Kinokuniya had explained that they were "seeking to consolidate the bookstore chain’s limited resources", while MPH cited high rental and intense competition from online retailers for their departure from the brick and mortar space.
