If you are considering a trip to New Zealand, here is some good news.

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Air New Zealand will be adding 35,000 seats between Auckland and Singapore, between March and Oct. 2020, as part of a joint venture between the two airlines.

This increase in capacity is due to growing demand from both ends of the route, according to a representative from Air New Zealand.

Increased to 21 services per week

Air New Zealand will increase its frequency from 12 to 14 services a week on its Boeing 787, from March 29 to October 24 next year.

This will bring the total number of services operated by the two airlines to 21 per week.

SIA will also utilise its larger A380, rather than its existing Boeing 777-300ER, to meet strong demand over the Easter 2020 peak.

The increase will mean that there will be 3 flights daily between Singapore and Auckland.

Tourism from New Zealand increased by 12 percent

Tickets for the new SIA and Air New Zealand operated service will be available for purchase from Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The two airlines have also announced an increase in flight capacity between Singapore-Christchurch and Singapore-Wellington in the last six months.

According to Air New Zealand, tourism from New Zealand to Singapore has increased by 12 per cent in the last year. While STB has placed the increase at around 4 per cent.
