Everyday heroes.

On August 7, one lady in Singapore welcomed the arrival of her third child.

In a Grab.

Was on the way to Thomson Medical Centre

In a Facebook post detailing her experience that day, Nur Syazwani Muhammad (known as Kamal Wani on Facebook) said that they were expecting a National Day baby.

However, on Aug. 7, she started experiencing "sporadic contractions" that were "slowly getting frequent and stronger".

At around 5pm, she decided that she could no longer bear with the pain, and decided to leave their home at Canberra Street.

Her husband booked them a Grab for Thomson Medical Centre.

Baby pops out

While she was on the Grab, however, her body went into "active labour".

Her water broke and she continued to push, she said.

And before the baby could drop into the space between the front and back seat, her husband "caught (their) baby and received her in his arms".

With the baby in his arms, he also stuck a bloody hand out of the car window to request that other motorists give way to them.

Helpful Grab driver

Throughout all of this, Syazwani was "surprised" by how the Grab driver was still "kind and calm despite the ruckus and drama".

She also added that the car looked like a "horrific mass murder scene", given the blood and smells.

They did, however, get his contact number and offered to discuss compensation fees. After sending them to Thomson Medical Centre, the driver kindly told them to "settle (their) baby first".

In her post, Syazwani expressed her gratitude to their driver, Chia Shang Heng, for being their "heroic driver". She also apologised for making a mess.

"We apologise for the mess made to your car, the business loss for not having a clean car to drive, and the terrible drama scene you had to deal with while driving. We hope your positive dispositions inspire others to be like you. Thank you once again for being our heroic driver."
