Teen, 18, arrested for alleged armed robbery in Sengkang involving burger & 6 packs of cigarettes

On August 4, 2019, at around 1:30am, the Police received a report of an man trying to rob a cashier at knife point along Fernvale Lane.

The suspect made off with six packs of cigarettes and what was described as “a packet of burger”.

The “packet of burger” seems to imply a convenience shop was robbed.

There is a 7-Eleven where the incident took place.

According to police in a press release shared with Mothership, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division quickly established the identity of the alleged robber through investigations and ground enquiries.

They arrested the suspect, who is 18 years old, within four hours of the robbery being reported.

The teen will be charged in court on Monday, August 5 with armed robbery.

If found guilty, he faces a maximum of 14 years imprisonment and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
